Bought it for the stainless steel carafe
This is a good coffeemaker for those who only need a couple of cups of coffee. I use a 16oz mug and get about 1 3/4 mugs from this size carafe. I know Mr. Coffee makes good products, having had a larger version of their coffeemakers so I didn't hesitate to order this one. The stainless steel carafe was the main reason I picked this particular model - I like knowing that if I drop it, it won't shatter into a million pieces like a glass carafe would. The machine also has a timer so you can set up when you want the coffee ready but I don't use that feature. The product info says you don't need to use filters in the filter cup but I do anyway - it just makes it easier to clean when you can lift out the filter with all the coffee grounds in it. The carafe poured with no dripping or dribbling - a problem I had with my previous small coffeemaker. One thing though, I occasionally see a little water leaking from where the plastic portion of the carafe meets the stainless steel portion...
Its a winner
Well my 4 cup Cuisinart gave out and I did not want to replace it with the same one. I love the stainless carafe
and saw this . Ive had it for 6 days now and its great, the coffee is hotter than my old one, easy to use too. I like how it pours with no spills. I do need to buy the permanent filter tho. I dont like to go back to using coffee filters.
Makes 1 3/4 large cups for me which is just right since I only use it in the morning. This has the clock and delay feature for those than would use it, I don't just the on switch and thats it.
Not as good as it looks
I bought this coffee maker for my husband and it has been a disappointment. He's had Mr. Coffe products before with good results, but this one is on it's way to the trash after not even two months. The first issue started right out of the box. The spout on the carafe was designed too short causing the liquid to drizzle down the side of the pot every time you'd try to pour. This wasn't a deal breaker as long as you poured it super slow. The second problem started about a month in when the electronics started to malfunction. At first the clock would randomly reset causing it not to brew at its programmed time. And believe me, my husband without his coffee when he wakes up doesn't do my morning any favors. This has gotten more and more frequent and now will actually stop brewing mid-pot so you have to stand over it and keep turning it on. Sort of defeats the purpose of having a programable coffee maker. The one star this product gets from us is because when it does actually work ,the...
