A lemon toaster?
Nine months later (no, not that kind of nine months) I'm adjusting my rating from 4(5) to 2(5) Amazon stars. The issue with the locking mechanism, of course, has only got worse. Now you need to press down, and while lever is depressed, pull slightly on the handle to make it stick in locked position.
The toasting effect is another goofy thing on this item. Any setting higher than 1 (the lowest, knob turned all the way down) will totally cremate anything in the toaster.
But turned down to minimum heat, and once you manage to get the toaster tray to stick in toasting position, it does produce a nice and even toast.
Still not impressed, KitchenAid.

Got this toaster mainly for the looks of it, but it turned out to be a pretty good machine. Toasts evenly and fairly quick, easy to use.
Holding back one star for value, it's a tad pricy, and for being just a little unnecessary bulky. Also the up and down mechanism...
Great toaster so far
Our old toaster finally bid farewell, so as the Kitchenaid fit our kitchen decor it was ordered after assuring it had good reviews. Although a little larger than previous toasters it has proven to be a worthy addition to our kitchen appliances. The slightly longer time it takes to toast the bread is soon forgotten as the bread comes up so evenly toasted. Muffins also get an even treatment. If the present trend continues it will be an excellent purchase.
Kitchenaid Toaster Meets Our Needs
Toaster perfect for bagels and different shades of toast. Very attractive and easy to use. Love it. Love the color also.
